Dorost Transportation

SMS Terms & Opt-In Policy

How we collect text-message consent, what we send, how often, and how to opt out. Last updated 2026-06-07.

Who we are

Dorost LLC dba Dorost Transportation — a licensed chauffeur ground-transportation service operating in Kansas and Missouri since 2019. Family-owned, fully insured. Phone (913) 787-0404. Owner: Ardy Dorost. Operations from Kansas City, MO.

What kinds of texts we send

SMS from Dorost is strictly transactional — every message relates to a ride the recipient has booked or is in the middle of taking. We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party content via text.

Message typeWhen it fires
Booking confirmationImmediately after a customer completes Stripe Checkout for a new reservation.
Day-of reminder~12 hours before pickup.
Chauffeur en-routeWhen the chauffeur leaves to start the pickup.
Chauffeur arrivedWhen the chauffeur reaches the pickup address.
Trip-complete receiptAfter the post-trip card charge is processed.
Schedule changesIf a pickup time or address is modified after booking.
Cancellation confirmationIf the customer or dispatcher cancels the trip.

Message frequency

Typically 3 to 6 messages per booked trip. Customers who do not have an active reservation receive zero messages. Recurring messages, marketing blasts, or promotional content are not sent through this number.

How we obtain consent

Customers explicitly opt in by checking a clearly labeled consent checkbox during the booking flow on dorosttransportation.com/book.html. The checkbox is not pre-checked — the customer must actively tick it before the booking can be submitted. The exact text shown next to the checkbox is reproduced below verbatim:

Existing customers who created accounts before this checkbox was added are prompted on their next sign-in via a modal on dorosttransportation.com/account.html to confirm or decline SMS consent. They can also manage their SMS preference at any time in their account settings.

Consent state is stored per-customer in our database (`clients.sms_consent` column with timestamp and source) and gates every outbound SMS at the application layer — no transactional message is sent unless the customer's consent flag is set to "1". If the lookup ever errors, our SMS helper fails closed (no message sent) rather than risking an unauthorized text.
